Susan Collins: US Senator, R-Maine, Says Trump's Comments on Somali Refugees 'Particularly Unhelpful'

Collins said Friday that Donald Trump's recent allegations of increased crime after the state admitted Somali refugees were "disparaging." She added that Maine has benefited from immigrants.“Mr. Trump’s statements disparaging immigrants who have come to this country legally are particularly unhelpful,” Maine Sen. Susan Collins said in yet another rebuke from a prominent Republican of the party’s presidential nominee. “Maine has benefited from people from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and, increasingly, Africa — including our friends from Somalia."

Trump has a point. Look what happened in Alberta, Canada. Edmonton and Calgary are the Somali communities where at least 22 young Somali males have been killed in the drug trade. Some left Toronto to work in that field and police came to their homes to tell the parents the bad news. I witnessed this a lot while I was in Canada.
