It's 2001 again. Blink 182 has a number one song on the charts, a Clinton is running for President and people are playing POKEMON again. This time there have been fatalities that could have been avoided. There has been so many incidents of Pokemon frenzy around the world and most of today's players were just babies at the time it came out.
Jerson Lopez de Leon was playing the wildly popular app in Guatemala with his cousin, 17-year-old cousin Daniel Moises Picen, when they reportedly decided to break into a house. This picture shows the first Pokémon GO player thought to have died as a direct result of playing the app, according to local reports.

Pictured smiling in a blue shirt, jeans and a baseball cap, heartbroken pals of Jerson Lopez de Leon, from Guatemala, have been paying tribute to the 18-year-old after he was shot dead.

He died while playing the wildly popular app with his cousin Daniel Moises Picen, 17.

They reportedly decided to break into a home in Chiquimula to catch one of the virtual animals, but local reports claim that Leon was then shot dead, while Picen was badly wounded in the incident.

An image from the scene also shows Picen being carried into an ambulance on a stretcher.
